GOD AND THE SPIRITUAL DIVIDE IN THE UNITED STATES TODAY!

“The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules …”

“Our nation will prosper or decline in direct proportion to our selection of leaders who are guided by the Holy Spirit. If we fail to select Godly leaders our destiny will surely be as that of the Roman Empire.”

— Ronald Reagan (1911-2004) 40th President of the United States

What divides the United States today is not political, it is spiritual. We are a nation divided between those who respect the Constitution, honor God, His laws, and Judeo-Christian traditions the country was founded on, and those who out of ignorance or rebellion against God, won’t. It is a fight for the heart and soul of the country.

We are entering into a new era with growing number of citizens and elected officials who reject God, His laws and the Bible as the basis of government, law, of what is considered right and wrong. It has been asked where are statesman with integrity who stand on principles and moral values? The answer is that they are there but few and far between. Government is a reflection of those who elected them to office.

The family is no longer the basis of civilization, replaced my government and a mountain of laws. A growing number of people in society today lack common decency and morals values. Concepts of right and wrong, good and evil are foreign, based more on how one feels or the situation that has occurred.

Either the Founding Fathers and patriots were right that there is a God (the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob), and it is our duty to acknowledge him, to follow his laws and humbly implore his protection and blessings.  And that He presides over the destinies of nations and there would chastisement if we went against God and his laws. Or they were wrong.

In a word we are as a people and a nation on many levels at war with God. Rejecting God and the Bible predictably and historically is not without conscience. Freed from our biblical moorings, we are a country a drift being tossed around by the waves with no protection from the rocks we may hit. “But ultimately our history and destiny as a nation will be written by the choices we have made."

Below are links to pages that contain news items, links, commentary, and quotes that highlight or contrast views and thoughts on the spiritual divide in the country and world today. They are presented to inform, contrast, to challenge, and at times to entertain. Enjoy.

Prophetic Flashback?

"It is easy to see that the moral sense has been bred out of certain sections of the population, like the wings have been bred off certain chickens to produce more white meat on them. This is a generation of wingless chickens, which I suppose is what Nietzsche meant when he said God was dead."

— (Mary) Flannery O'Connor – (1925-1964) American Christian Writer and Essayist

“Secular humanism [& liberalism-progressivism] and Christianity are on a collision course. Any system that teaches anything contrary to moral relativism — such as the Christian doctrine of absolute truth and biblical moral standards — is a threat to the entire humanistic position. And on order for humanism to bring about its desired goals, man must be stripped of his belief in God and moral absolutes. Humanism cannot prevail as long as man believes in God.

The strand of humanism runs through the fabric of many social and political movements bent on establishing a new world order. The most notable of these on the world stage today are Communism and Socialism. Their basic beliefs contain the same enmity toward God and moral absolutes as reflected in humanism.”

“… in order to enslave a person, he must be taught to think of himself as an animal with no spiritual purpose and no eternal soul.

Once he has been "programmed” to reject God, he is ready to embrace the State as his god and master The communist know that a person who holds to his belief in God cannot be enslaved. You may imprision his body, but you will never enslave his mind and spirit. Thus the concept of God must be erased from the minds of people in order for them to be the slaves of the State.”

— Marlin Maddoux (1933–2004) Christian Show Host of Point of View, Founder of the USA Radio Network, National Center for Freedom & Renewal and Alliance Defense Fund co-founder, Author and Journalist
